Acceptable Use Policy
Rules designed to protect customers, the network, and other Internet users from unlawful, abusive, or disruptive use of service.
What this policy is
The Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) is part of the Wireless Internet Services, Inc. Terms of Service. By ordering or using service, customers and users agree to follow this policy. The policy describes conduct that is prohibited or restricted when using Wireless Internet Services, Inc. services.
Account responsibility
Customers are responsible for activity conducted through their subscribed service and credentials, including activity by other users of the connection. Usernames and passwords should not be shared outside the authorized household or business.
Illegal or harmful activity
Services may not be used for unlawful activity, threats, harassment, fraud, abuse, copyright or trademark infringement, invasion of privacy, malicious attacks, intentional disruption, or other conduct that violates applicable law or harms people, property, systems, or networks.
Spam and messaging abuse
Bulk unsolicited email, spam-related activity, email bombing or flooding, forged message headers, open mail relays, chain letters, and tools or services designed to facilitate prohibited messaging activity are not permitted.
Security and network abuse
Users may not attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, data, or networks; scan for vulnerabilities without authorization; interfere with normal network operations; overload systems; distribute malware; or engage in hacking, cracking, denial-of-service activity, or similar network abuse.
Servers and peer-to-peer traffic
Residential service is not intended for dedicated Internet-facing servers unless the service level specifically permits them. Limited personal remote-access use may be acceptable. Peer-to-peer applications should be configured so they do not create excessive impact on the network or other customers.
Unacceptable content and data
Customers are responsible for data they transmit, host, publish, or distribute. Content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, deceptive, fraudulent, privacy-invasive, or used to facilitate prohibited activity may violate this policy. Wireless Internet Services, Inc. may take action when content or activity creates legal, security, or network risk.
Equipment
Company-supplied equipment may not be moved from its installed location, altered, or relocated without permission from Wireless Internet Services, Inc. Company-owned equipment remains the property of Wireless Internet Services, Inc.
Enforcement
Wireless Internet Services, Inc. may warn, suspend, restrict, or terminate service when this policy is violated. Serious illegal or dangerous activity may result in immediate suspension or termination and may be reported to law enforcement when required. Service credits are not owed for interruptions caused by a customer's violation of this policy.
